Thank you for your interest in this research study that looks at brain function, psychotherapy, and TMS in people with depression. Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) is FDA-approved to treat depression. We want to test the effects of combining TMS and psychotherapy on brain function in people with treatment-resistant depression.

This treatment phase lasts for 6 weeks, Monday through Friday, as either an outpatient or inpatient in Bethesda, Maryland. After that, there are 3 monthly brief phone calls. You can find more information here.

There is no cost to participate and there is no need for insurance. Compensation is provided. Travel arrangements may be provided.

Please answer these brief questions to begin the screening process. Submitting answers does not obligate you to participate. You may decide you are no longer interested at any time. If you have any more questions, you can reach us at: 301-827-1874 or depression.research@mail.nih.gov
